This is the excerpt for your very first post.
So I’m cheating on Facebook! Like Ross, I think we’re just on a break but my kids keep doing funny stuff and I need to share but can’t face the political stories that just filled up my newsfeed so I’ve finally decided to hook up with WordPress.
Never blogged before. No idea what I’m doing or who’s reading but think it may be fun. Not sure how I’ll get on without hearing everyone else’s stories though. I’m at heart, a nosey person and loved seeing what y’all were up to and the crazy cat videos. I’ll miss those too.
But I was an addict and knew an hour after deactivating my account I’d done the right thing as I wanted to post “proud I’ve survived an hour without Facebook-did ya miss me?” It’s now been a week that I’ve been ‘clean’ and I’ve just about stopped thinking in “statuses” but I’ve missed not being able to share the boys’ adventures so here goes…altho not quite now as I’ve ironically been on WordPress too much this morning and now the kids are arguing over Minecraft!

First off...I ain't no crafty person...if you've come for sewing tips, move along...nothing to see here. The occasional project for the kids where i tell them "to just hold it like that and people won't see that wonky bit". Altho maybe I am crafty in the "see if I can get the hubby to think it's his idea" sense. Yep! I'll admit I'm crafty there!
But I am most definitely a Mom (and also a Mum as my eldest still prefers the English way to the American that my youngest has "toadally" embraced). And I love being their Mom! They are awesome kids. Chalk and cheese and peas in a pod! And they love bloody Minecraft. Building blocks, infinite possibilities, making mistakes but just starting again or trying a different way and a bit of fun altho I prefer good old country or 80's music to that soporific tune Minecraft drives me crazy with. Hence the clever pun. That and I couldn't think of a suitable Star Wars alternative.

Love it Emma! And very impressed that you took the plunge to come of Facebook. Every so often I get so sick of it and think about coming off it too. These last few weeks all the political stuff has made me feel so weary. 😒 But then I worry that I might be missing something and that I’ll end up with no friends or social life! (how did I manage to have a life before Facebook?!) Or perhaps I’m just even more nosy than you are! 😂

That’s my fear…I’m so nosey! I’ll learn smoke signals so we can get our nights out 😉 That said, ever since I reactivated my account to say I was no longer on it 😝 I dont appear to be deactivating it again lol

I came off Facebook for four months ( go me 😂) before Christmas. Recently went back on and I’m glad I did as if hadn’t been on them wouldn’t have seen the link to your blog ……. see some good comes of fb just a shame not more 😏

Aww thanks Simone! That’s sweet. I’m waiting for my pesky kids to do something to write about but ever since I signed up for this, they’ve been just ticking along nicely. That’s good I suppose. 😄 I think I’ll have to keep popping stealthily on to facebook so I don’t miss anything myself xx
