Monday’s always a long day

So Alex asked me on the way home when I turned up the music on the radio “you love this song don’t ya mum?” What I wanted to say was “Holey moley…I’ve just had to turn the radio down so you can repeat this question?! I love both you boys dearly but since leaving school 90 minutes ago, you and your brother aint shut up. Constant. Incessant. (Except for when I ask you what you want for tea then there was silence for a whole 30 seconds which is a long time when your stood in the middle of the meat aisle blocking the pork chops from someone who really wants pork chops-a little too much by the scowl I got) Unrelenting chatter.  Chatter. Chatter. Chatter….oh and arguing. Wouldn’t be the weekly shop without that. Who’s going to push the trolley? Who likes bacon more? Whose turn it is to choose the cereal? Whose hand was on the cheese first to unload it onto the bloody conveyor belt? So no son. I don’t love it. I like George Michael’s Careless Whisper a bit-a take it or leave it kinda song. But I do love you and so I don’t scream like a banshee because I’m a little fraught because your now arguing over god only knows what in the back of the car I’ve turned the music up to drown out the noise.

But I just reply “yep, I do! It’s great”

First off...I ain't no crafty person...if you've come for sewing tips, move along...nothing to see here. The occasional project for the kids where i tell them "to just hold it like that and people won't see that wonky bit". Altho maybe I am crafty in the "see if I can get the hubby to think it's his idea" sense. Yep! I'll admit I'm crafty there! But I am most definitely a Mom (and also a Mum as my eldest still prefers the English way to the American that my youngest has "toadally" embraced). And I love being their Mom! They are awesome kids. Chalk and cheese and peas in a pod! And they love bloody Minecraft. Building blocks, infinite possibilities, making mistakes but just starting again or trying a different way and a bit of fun altho I prefer good old country or 80's music to that soporific tune Minecraft drives me crazy with. Hence the clever pun. That and I couldn't think of a suitable Star Wars alternative.

  1. Must admit, the thought of having to take the boys with me to the supermarket is one of the things putting me of working full time, lol! 😆
